Tufa Cast Over lay Buckle by award winning artist Gerald Lomaventema. This buckle was created using the Tufa Cast method. Tufa a volcanic stone is inticately carved to provide the mold for molten silver. 3 Horses overlayed in silver adorn this buckle incorporating the hopi symbols for water, lightening, and the healing hand. The mountains above the stampeding horses are engraved adding a striking finishing touch. Gerald is a relatively young Hopi artists who has won numerous awards for his Tufa cast jewelry. This buckle also incorporates sterling silver findings on the reverse. A one of a kind piece!
