The Pendleton Tribute Series honors the design of various woolen mills dating back to the late 19th century and early 20th century. Pendleton Woolen Mills was one of five major mills weaving blankets for the Native American trade during the "golden age" of trade blankets in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The blankets in the Tribute Series pay tribute to popular patterns of the day woven by Pendleton's four major competitors. The four other woolen mills of the time were Racine Woolen Mills ( Racine, WI), J. Capps and Sons (Jacksonville, IL), Buell Mfg. Co. (St. Joseph, MO) and Oregon City Woolen Mills.
