Pendleton Fremont Blanket- Unnapped
The Pendleton Fremont Blanket (unnapped) features a black body with grayish white, turquoise, orange, maroon, brown and red. Pendleton's Fremont blanket is in honor the prehistoric Fremont indians who lived on the Colorado Plateau. This culture who lived circa 700-1300 AD, at the same time as the better known Anasazi people, disappeared mysteriously. The Fremont people lived in part upon the Big Horn sheep who also inhabited the Colorado Plateau. The Bighorn sheep provided meat for sustenance as well as clothing from their hides. Many petroglyphs left behind by the Fremont people featuring the curlin horns of the Bighorn sheep. The Fremont blanket features these curled horns as well as the arrows which are weapons of the Fremont people.
