The Pendleton Record Keeper Blanket honors the Record Keepers of our history. These people can be teachers, historians, parents, writers and artists who in one form or the other keep our traditions and beliefs alive.
For this blanket Pendleton chose a Spirit figure found in pictographs as the central element. The remaining designs on the blanket include a butterfly next to a village signaling the birth of a new village. Other symbolology included is that of a dragonfly (symbolizing the existence of water and renewal),a maze (symbolizing migration), whirling log and bear paw.
