Clouds-Water-Waves : Water is all important to the Hopi as it enables the growth and sustenance of their corn crop. Symbol of good fortune & fertility.

Water Serpent - Avanyu: The water serpent symbolizes water and is important to the Hopi for that reason. It is also said that when it's tail strikes the ground it is creating thunder and then as it's tongue flicks to and fro it causes the lightening all of which typically occur during our southwestern thunder storms. If you see an Avanyu it is considered that it will bring you luck, good health and that there is water near or it will soon rain.

Corn: Being historically the most important crop to the Hopis, the corn stalk represents life itself.
